When we saw the house in 2005 we fell immediately in love with the exterior. The walls were in great shape and well pointed.
The roof and chimneys were fine.
But the interior oh la la la -nailed and glued down carpets. A very ancient wiring system, no fosse (septic tank) and a huge oil central heating boiler behind an ugly block wall in the Salon.
The stairs were crooked and loose covered in several layers of brown varnish.
Only a couple of points on each floor and one toilet in the house.
There was no insulation and the chimneys had not been swept for 100 years according to our Sweep!
then and now.
We have had professionally renovated plumbing, electrics, lighting inside and out.
Newly fitted!
New electric water heater
New electrics all through the house
New plumbing
New large fosse
New oak floors in the salon and kitchen
Newly insulated walls and ceilings
Stone internal walls completely re pointed
New carpet in one bedroom and upstairs hall
Newly laid castine and Boules court
Massive beams in the kitchen
Fully insulated boiler room in the barn
The oil fired central heating has been completely overhauled plus 2 new Godin wood burners. An electrical water heating system has been installed.
All work was carried out by professionals with Siret numbers and all work is guaranteed for 10 years.
